Reading Coaching with Edmark's Reading Milestones
Here at Read To Achieve we provide coaching based on the Edmark's Reading Milestones series of books. Edmark's program is an alternative to phonic-based reading programs. Edmark's Reading Milestones focuses on carefully sequenced, highly repetitive word recognition. Each book builds upon the words mastered in previous books, helping children to become more confident in their skills.
We have found that the Edmark reading program is especially helpful for children with Autism, developmental or learning disabilities,
children who lack age-appropriate vocabulary, or others who have not had success with phonics. Reading practice with the Edmark Reading Milestones series develops thinking and discrimination skills, facilitates visual memory of words, and builds an association between oral language and print.
Although we prefer the Edmark Reading Milestones series we are happy to work with other reading programs you may have already started with your child. Reading sessions can be purchased as a block and scheduled in hour or half hour incriments.
